LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) Workshops
These two day workshops are invaluable! They are designed to help community caregivers improve their skills and confidence in making a suicide intervention. The workshop will equip participants to
- Consider the effects of their own attitudes towards suicide
- Identify people at risk
- Assess the degree of risk
- Engage a person at risk with confidence
- Intervene effectively to promote safety of a person at risk
- Undertake appropriate management to referral to local resources

LivingWorks suicideTALK
suicideTALK is a short presentation encouraging communities to talk about suicide. It explores how we can overcome stigma about suicide and play a role in preventing suicide and promoting life. Basic TALK steps are introduced - Tell, Ask, Listen and Keepsafe.

Support After Suicide Group
Lifeline Mid Coast is running a support group for people bereaved by suicide. The group is a safe place to express the feelings that suicide brings up. In 2012 the first meeting will be held 25th January,for more information and venue please phone the Lifeline office on 6581 2800.
Remembering our Losses
The aftermath of suicide can be devastating for families, friends, and colleagues, and is often marked by confusion, anger, guilt, rejection and frustration. Isolation and alienation can also feature for families, and they may struggle for years to understand why their loved one died so tragically.
Lifeline Mid Coast holds two memorial services on the Mid Coast to remember those we have lost to suicide. On Friday 7th December at Tall Ships Reserve, Tinonee and Friday 21st December at Windmill Hill, Port Macquarie gathering at 6pm. All welcome.
