24 hour, 7 day, telephone counselling and crisis support service.

The 24 hour service provides counselling, crisis intervention, information and referral, and is operated by trained multi skilled volunteers who work on a rostered basis. They are supervised, supported and resourced by salaried professional staff. Currently there are 50 volunteer telephone counsellors

Community and Industry Training Programs 

Lifeline SWV offers Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) which is internationally recognised and provides much needed professional development for regional staff and skills for community members.

Short training programs and workshops are provided including, 'The Accidental Counsellor', Dealing with Difficult Clients, Basic Counselling Skills.

Registered Training Organisation (RTO) - provision of accredited training.

Volunteers have the choice of gaining a nationally accredited qualification through Lifeline Australia's status as an RTO. Lifeline SWV offers Telephone Counselling trainees the opportunity to access Certificate IV.

Lifeline Access & Resource Centre (LARC)

A ‘walk in’ multipurpose community hub that provides triage and assessment, information and referral, face to face counselling and crisis support, mental health education programs, industry and community training, support and self help groups for community members.

Six Opportunity Shops located in Portland, Port Fairy, Warrnambool, Camperdown, Terang and Hamilton

The opportunity shops not only provide low-cost second hand goods and clothing to local communities, but are also a promotional component of the organisation. Shops provide a community building function and work experience in rural towns through volunteer participation.

A Warehouse in Warrnambool for sorting and recycling all goods and clothing donated by the community

The Warehouse processes donated goods that are then retailed to the community. It functions with the aid of strong volunteer participation.

• The Warehouse is an environmentally responsible recycling unit for the community and provides essential funding for service and program delivery.
