The MCSP is a Western Australian Government funded body with the responsibility for strategy development and coordination to reduce the incidence of suicide and self harming behaviours. The Council has representation from key government and non-government departments and community organisations.
Suicide Prevention Australia is a non-profit, non-government organisation working as a public health advocate in suicide prevention. SPA is the only national umbrella body active in suicide prevention throughout Australia, promoting community awareness, advocacy collaboration and partnerships between communities, practitioners, research and industry; information access and sharing and local, regional and national forums, conferences and events.
SuicideLine (VIC) provides specialist, confidential, telephone counselling for all Victorians, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for the cost of a local call (mobiles extra).

The aim of the Institute is to promote, conduct, and support comprehensive inter-sectoral programs of research activities for the prevention of suicidal behaviours in Australia. Includes information for young people and families about how to take appropriate action in the case of a person expressing suicidal thoughts and/or actions.
