Lifeline Hobart Culture Review - TasCOSS
(October 2009)
Re: TasCOSS Workforce Development Survey
I am inviting you to participate in the TasCOSS Workforce Development research project which is surveying both paid staff and volunteers of organisations which have agreed to be case studies for this project.
The TasCOSS Workforce Development Project is supported by funding provided by the Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services and aims to explore the major issues relating to recruitment and retention of staff in the community services sector. In particular, it will examine the connections between organisational culture and worker satisfaction and how this impacts on willingness to continue to work for an organisation.
By addressing workforce development issues including workforce planning, attraction, recruitment and retention, learning and development and the organisational culture which underpins these matters, the participation of your organisation as a case study can contribute to helping the community services sector become an industry/career of choice. Your opinions and the survey responses of your staff and volunteers will help assess the issues that impact on these issues.
Participation in the project is voluntary and you may choose not to participate. However, I hope you will choose to take part and contribute to the project by filling in the attached survey which should take between 15 and 20 minutes to complete.
Please be assured that your responses are strictly confidential. You are not required to put your name on the survey when you fill it out, only the name of your organisation and I will make every effort to ensure that your answers cannot be linked to you personally when I send my results to your organisation.
If you have any questions about the survey, or about being part of this study, please don’t hesitate to contact me on 6231 0755. Thank you in advance for taking the time to participate in this survey.
