Lifeline Australia actively pursues funding for the development and implementation of new innovative service delivery projects that address specific social issues in the Australian community such as suicide prevention and awareness, rural health and other mental health initiatives. Lifeline Australia is also responsible for the national promotion and marketing of Lifeline and national services throughout the country.
The Lifeline network is comprised of 42 Lifeline Centres, which operate from locations all around Australia. These Centres provide national services such as 24-hour telephone counselling, the Lifeline Information Service and LivingWorks suicide prevention Training. Many Centres also provide a range of services that are specific to the need sof their local communities, this can include programs such as; financial counselling, crisis support, face-to-face counselling, gambling counselling, disability services, rural outreach, youth services, migrant support, aged care, indigenous support programs, rural outreach, counselling for children and family mediation services and many more.
