Lifeline's annual Stress Down Day highlights the importance of recognising and managing stress but also encourages everyone to have fun.

International Day for the elimination of Violence against Women.
The White Ribbon Foundation of Australia aims to eliminate violence against all women. The major strategies to achieve this are a national media campaign as well as education and male leadership programmes aimed at men and boys around Australia. All funds received by the White Ribbon Foundation will support the implementation of these strategies.

World Mental Health Day on the 10th October 2009 will focus on "Mental Health In Primary Care: Enhancing Treatment and Promoting Mental Health."
This year's theme will address the continuing need to “make mental health issues a global priority”, and will stress the all too often neglected fact that mental health is an integral element of every individual’s overall health and wellbeing.
World Mental Health Day is the only annual global awareness campaign to focus attention on specific aspects of mental health and mental disorders, and is now celebrated in over 100 countries.

World Suicide Prevention Day aims to bring a range of individuals together to demonstrate a commitment to reducing the incidence of suicide in Australia and raising awareness about this national and world wide issue. “Suicide Prevention in Different Cultures” is the international theme for World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, 2009.
In conjunction with World Suicide Prevention Day, Suicide Prevention Australia (SPA) is holding the LIFE Awards in Perth on the 11th September 2009. These awards acknowledge the vital work undertaken in the prevention of suicide across Australia.
