Amusement Machines Fight Stress

Release date: 23 Oct 2009

Lifeline Australia and the National Amusement Machine Operators Association (NAMOA) have joined forces to help reduce stress in the community.

As part of a new supporter relationship, NAMOA and their Members have shown their interest in helping Australian's stress less, by putting their weight behind Lifeline's National Stress Down Day – which takes place in July 2010.

"We are so pleased that NAMOA have agreed to support Lifeline's Stress Down Day and help us raise money to support our vital 24 hour telephone counselling service," Lifeline Australia's General Manager Brendan Maher said today.

"Amusement machines can be a great way to have fun and stress down. By playing machines that carry the Stress Down Day sticker, people can support Lifeline at the same time."

NAMOA's President Ken Corley said that up to100% of the proceeds of identified Stress Down Day labelled machines will be donated directly to Lifeline.

"On behalf of NAMOA we are delighted and honoured to support Lifeline in this important campaign.  To be a part of such a respected organisation is both fulfilling and satisfying,"  Mr Corley said.

"The benefits that flow to this country thanks to Lifeline are immeasurable."

The Official Campaign Launch will be on Monday the 26th of October 2009 at the Funhouse Family Entertainment Centre located in Westfield Shopping Centre Carindale, Brisbane.

The event kicks off at 6:30pm and will include free games for two hours for invited guests.  For a media pass contact Stella@funhouse.net.au.
