Lifeline's Big Book Fair
2009 Autumn Lifeline Big Book Fair
Plans are well underway for the 2009 Autumn Lifeline Big Book Fair, taking place at the Kembla Grange Racecourse between 10am and 4pm on 27th, 28th and 29th March 2009.
Nearly 50,000 books have been sorted and packed by our hard working volunteers and will be displayed in more than 50 categories. As usual, there will be something there for everyone: fiction; non-fiction; children’s books; art; science; literature; history; royalty; military; craft, sport, new age, self-help, music, education and reference books.
But we are always looking for more. You can donate books, new or old, to Lifeline South Coast at the Lifeline Shops in Wollongong, Unanderra or Kiama or the Lifeline Warehouse in Auburn St Wollongong. Wollongong City and Shellharbour City are acting as collection points as are all 26 Southern.IML Pathology collection centres across the Illawarra and South Coast. Visit www.southernpath.com.au for the centre closest to you.
Or bring your books with you to the Fair - there will be a collection truck in the car park!
We are always looking for volunteers to help with the event. They may be required
- Set-up and pack-up the event
- Provide customer service and information
- Operate cash registers
- Work on the tally tables (helps if you are good with numbers)
- Complete exit interviews and other marketing jobs
If you think you can help, contact the Lifeline South Coast administration office on 02 4228 1311 for more information.
