Your gift can give hope to our Australian farmers doing it tough.
The dairy farmer crisis is hurting farming communities across Australia. Tragically, there have been media reports of farmers taking their own lives.
A perfect storm of retrospective milk price cuts, drought, and reduced demand has left many farmers operating at a loss and with massive debts. These farmers need to know that help is available, and that there is hope.
Lifeline has been asked by farmers’ groups to provide additional crisis support and we’ve already prepared our 4000 crisis supporters for calls to our 13 11 14 crisis line from distressed farmers and their families.
We are also working with various private partners on building community capacity to deal with this situation. This will involve a reach out program to grow public awareness and train community members to better recognise and respond to the signs of suicide among their fellow workers, friends and loved ones.
But we need your help to redouble our efforts so no farming family feels alone.
Please don’t wait - donate now to give hope and save lives.
