Lifeline Community Custodians
Lifeline has partnered with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) to deliver the Lifeline Community Custodian Program and help raise awareness of suicide and mental illness.
Twenty-one elite athletes from a range of National Sporting Organisations and the National Institute Network have been selected as Lifeline Community Custodians. The partnership has been developed to raise awareness about suicide and mental illness, to reduce stigma and encourage vulnerable people to seek help.
Many of the Lifeline Community Custodians have lived experience with suicide and mental illness and they are all passionate about giving back to the community and helping Lifeline reduce the increasing rates of suicide in Australia.
The athletes will be attending community events, telling their own personal stories of resilience and sharing the message of hope to around the country.
