Lifeline Calls You offers regular calls from trained crisis supporters. It’s designed for people who want to build confidence to manage life’s challenges, with consistent support over several weeks.
What is Lifeline Calls You?
Lifeline Calls You (LCY) is a new, small-scale program where Lifeline crisis supporters will call you twice a week for four weeks.
The aim is simple – to give you space to talk, reflect and build confidence to manage life’s challenges. Each call is flexible and shaped around your needs and circumstances. This approach is based on a similar program that had positive results for others who tried it in 2024.
What’s involved?
If you decide to take part in Lifeline Calls You, here’s what to expect:
- You’ll be asked for your first name (or a name you’d prefer to use), your mobile number, and your state or territory so we can set up and verify your calls.
- You’ll receive two calls a week for four weeks – up to eight calls in total. Each call can go for up to 45 minutes, and we’ll schedule them at times that suit you.
- The first call each week will be on a Monday or Tuesday, and the second on a Thursday or Friday, during daytime hours.
- We’ll send you a reminder text message before each call so you don’t have to worry about remembering.
- You’ll also be invited to take part in a few short, optional surveys to help Lifeline learn and improve the program. Each time, we’ll explain what the questions are for and how your information will be used.
Who can take part?
A small team of Lifeline crisis supporters can offer this program to people who feel they would benefit from support beyond a one-off call.
When does it begin?
The program starts taking participants in November 2025. If you’re offered to be part of the program, you can choose if you want to take part or not. To register your interest, or to contact the LCY program team for any other reason get in touch here: Contact the Lifeline Calls You team
