Lifeline's structure
Lifeline is a national charity that provides crisis support, counselling, self-led support resources, and training.
Lifeline is comprised of a National Office and a network of 17 separately incorporated Member organisations who own and operate over 43 accredited Lifeline Centres across Australia. One of our greatest strengths lies in the diversity of our distributed network located in every state and territory.
Lifeline Members
Our 17 Lifeline Members are vital partners in ensuring Australians in crisis can access support and services no matter where they live.
Through our Member Network, we answer calls, texts, and chats to our national 24-hour crisis support service.
-
In addition to supporting our national crisis support services, each of our Members delivers locally based initiatives to help communities strengthen their capacity to be suicide safe, build resilience, and achieve positive mental health and wellbeing outcomes.
Each Member delivers initiatives that are most needed in their local community, which may include:
Face-to-face counselling
Face-to-face crisis support via community Connect Hubs
Support groups, including Eclipse and bereavement support
Financial counselling
Accidental counsellor training
Workplace training
Start the conversation training
Rapid Response Programs in the event of natural disasters or community emergencies
Domestic violence response training through DV-alert.
By having a local presence, Lifeline Australia can work collaboratively with the Member Network to deliver resources, support, and skills to help communities in times of crisis.
Our Members also operate a range of Lifeline Shops and Book Fairs across the country. The donated goods that are sold through the shops and at the Book Fairs help to fund suicide prevention services, including crisis support, counselling, and other local programs.
