What type of gift is right for you?
We recommend that you seek advice from a solicitor who can factor in your personal circumstances and help you reach a decision that best reflects your wishes. It’s also a good idea to discuss your gift with your loved ones so they understand why it is important to you.
A residuary gift
A gift of what remains of your estate after you have made provisions for your loved ones, and your taxes and debts have been paid.
A percentage gift
Allows you to decide what proportion of your total estate you want to give to Lifeline Australia.
A pecuniary gift
A gift of a specific dollar amount.
"I have a lifetime of poor mental health and I live with a psychiatric mood disorder. I have been hospitalised when I attempted to take my own life, and, I have also lost people who have died by suicide.
I am now a mental health peer worker and I convene and chair a community-based lived experience suicide awareness and prevention group locally.
I am not in a financial position to donate to charity now, so when I saw I could leave a gift in my Will to Lifeline Australia which would allow me to contribute to their future funding, I was really pleased and could not pass that opportunity up."
