Lifeline South East (LLSE), established in 1983 and based in Mount Gambier on South Australia’s Limestone Coast, is committed to the vision of an Australia free of suicide. We provide accessible, no cost services that strengthen community wellbeing and build resilience.

Our services include 24/7 Telephone Crisis Support (13 11 14) in partnership with Lifeline Adelaide, the Regional Gambling Help Service offering counselling to individuals and families affected by gambling harm, the award-winning Prisoner Listener Program providing suicide prevention peer support in prisons, and annual Suicide & Self-Harm Training for Correctional and community corrections staff across SA. We also deliver Care Ring a daily weekday phone check-in for people isolated or living alone and Lifeline CONNECT, a mobile, in-community crisis support and suicide prevention service.

Our work is sustained through five retail outlets and a central warehouse, with local volunteers providing support across several areas. In addition, the Regional Gambling Help Service is strengthened by the inclusion of a dedicated peer worker, whose lived experience enhances engagement, builds trust, and supports recovery. As a founding member of the Mount Gambier & District Suicide Prevention Network, LLSE provides active leadership and collaboration in regional suicide prevention efforts.

If you’re in immediate danger, call Triple Zero (000).
