Out of the Shadows 2026
Sunday 13 September 2026 (9-11am)
Flagstaff Gardens, West Melbourne
Join us on Sunday 13 September to commemorate World Suicide Prevention Day (Thurs 10 Sept). Together we will walk and remember those we’ve lost to suicide: to remember a loved one, as a personal tribute for a friend or family member, or stand alongside Australians experiencing emotional distress or mental health challenges.
For over 55 years Lifeline Melbourne has answered calls from people experiencing crisis. Many are thinking about taking their own lives. Tragically over 65,000 Australians attempt to take their own life, and over 3,000 Australians lose their lives to suicide each year: our family, friends and loved ones.
Should you choose, you can raise funds for Lifeline Melbourne to provide crisis support and suicide prevention services.
Together we can ensure no one has to face their darkest moments alone.

Cheer on 1,000 firefighters as they set out to climb 28 floors in full firefighting gear to raise funds for Lifeline, cancer research and 000 Foundation
13th Annual

Climbers will battle 28 floors in up to 25kg of turnout gear and breathing apparatus as a symbol of the burden of significant health and well-being issues faced by our first responders and their families on a daily basis. Some will also be breathing "on air" through a self contained breathing apparatus adding a extra level of difficulty to their climb.
They need help to raise $1 million to support beneficiaries Lifeline, Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation and 000Foundation.
